Happy Birthday (So Much Love / Itty Bitty Greetings / Pattern Play)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, usually when I think of flowers, I predominately think of the colours pink, white, yellow, orange, and red.  For some reason, I randomly coloured the larger floral image from the So Much Love stamp set in shades of Smoky Slate.  I was tempted to discard the image but decided to see if I could make it into a card I was happy with.  This is the end result.

After colouring the flower, I fussy cut it with my Paper Snips and set it aside.  I was trying to find a colour scheme which might make the image pop and decided to use a Coastal Cabana card base.  I used the same stamp to create a pattern on this cardstock base.  Depending on your preference, you could create a soft background by using Versamark or a stronger background by using Coastal Cabana ink.

The panel in the middle was created by using the ‘lines’ stamp from Pattern Play.  I attached it to my Stamparatus and then stamped the image repeatedly to cover the entire panel.

Here’s the card

I know the colour of the flower makes this card a little unusual but it does really appeal to me and I never thought I would say that.  I really hope this card really encourages you to look at your colours and maybe change them up a little.  Don’t worry if it looks weird at the start, it might end up looking really lovely!  Good luck!

And don’t forget the Online Extravaganza is still underway!  Selected items from the Annual Catalogue are 10% off until 11.50 pm (AET) / 8.50 pm  (WA time).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!
