Peace and Joy (Peace and Joy)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, one of my favourite cards in the August to December 2020 Mini Catalogue was a Christmas card featuring the Peace & Joy Bundle.  It was relatively simple but had a great impact. You can see it on page 18.  One of the first things I did when I bought the Peace & Joy Bundle was to recreate this card.

The most challenging part of this card, aside from the fussy cutting (I know some of you are not a fan of fussy cutting), was lining up the stamped image with the die-cut card base.  There are a few ways you can do this part.  I think I made it harder than it needed to be but I’ll share my process.  I cut a panel of Whisper White Cardstock which was smaller than the card base.  I positioned the Peace and Joy stamps where I thought I would be happy with them.  I then picked up both stamps on the one block.  You could also use your Stamparatus for this process.  I stamped the words in Misty Moonlight on the Whisper White panel.  After cleaning the stamps, I actually positioned the Joy dies over the stamps and tried to make then as perfectly spaced as I could.  I used removable tape to tape the dies together.  Next up, I put them onto my card base and ran them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.  Once that was done all I had to do was tape the stamped panel to the card base, and then finish off the card.

Here’s the card

I love this card so much.  The card sample in the catalogue used the smaller die so that less white space was showing.  I decided I really loved the look of more white space.  As you play around with card designs, especially if you are CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) a card, try and do what feels right for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
