A Christmas card made with Sheep (Counting Sheep)

by Kylie

Hi, recently my friend Melissa shared a gorgeous Christmas card using the Counting Sheep stamp set and the coordinating Sheep die set. You can see it here! It was so darling and I couldn’t help but ask her if I could CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it. Fortunately, she agreed and my version of her cute card is what I am sharing with you today.

Stamp out each of the sheep from the Counting Sheep stamp set twice (except for the one you are putting on the top of the tree). Colour them with your preferred colouring medium; I used Stampin’ Blends. Next, die-cut them with the coordinating Sheep dies. While you have the Sheep dies out, take a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and die cut the sun – we will use this as the star at the top of the tree.

Stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink. I chose to use a sentiment from the Best Years stamp set but I masked off the part which I didn’t want so only “Happy Christmas” remained. Use the Messages die to cut out the sentiment. Cut out some additional stars from the Gold Foil Sheet.

While the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine was out I also die cut a hill for the sheep to stand on using a die from the Basic Borders dies. I used Old Olive cardstock for this base as I wanted it to tie in with the rest of my colour scheme. I had chosen to use a Real Red card base and patterned paper from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper pack.

Once everything was cut out, all that was left to do was to assemble the card and add a little Wink of Stella to the sheep.

Here’s the card…

I really enjoyed creating this card. I was thinking it might be fun to re-make this card as a birthday card. The sheep at the top could hold balloons and a flag die cut with dies from the Sheep die set. So cute!

The Counting Sheep stamp set and the Sheep dies can only be obtained for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. Sale-A-Bration ends today – 30 September 2021.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!
