Congratulations (Hand-Penned Petals) – Video

by Kylie

Hi everyone, a couple of weeks ago I shared the cards I made for Mother’s Day. I received a lot of questions as to how I created the background of the cards. So today, I am pleased to share a video showing my process.

To create the card I used the fabulous Hand-Penned Petals Bundle. This is a two-step stamp set and die set (sold separately or as a bundle for a 10% discount). It features line drawings and solid stamps to add colour. Of course, you can still colour the line drawing however you would like but the solid stamps sure make the process fast! The solid images do not perfectly match the line drawings but it adds a certain character, I think.

I’ve used the one floral line drawing in two ways on this card. The first way is to create a focal image for my card. The second way is to create a fun background. It’s actually a relatively fast process. I stamped the line image in Versamark all over the card base and then heat embossed it. Next, I used a Water Painter to add some watered down ink to the flowers. It looks so pretty.

Here’s the video…

Here’s the card…

Here’s the same card with a different sentiment…

I love this design and actually made it for a recent card swap I did with some of the girls from the Stampers Anonymous team. I was also thinking that while you could actually create this card with pretty much any colour combination, that Garden Green might look awesome as a card base. What do you think? Will you give it a try?

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
