Create a simple and elegant birthday card (Cottage Rose)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, do you have a go-to when you need to make a card in a hurry? In general, I pick a stamp set which I love and one I can colour. When I found out my neighbour is celebrating her birthday today and I needed to make a quick card. I grabbed the Cottage Rose Bundle and set to work.

I started by creating a card base from Thick Basic White cardstock. Next, I took a piece of gorgeous patterned paper from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper pack and cut it to the size I wanted. I layered this on a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. This was then adhered to the centre of my card base.

Using the Cottage Rose stamp set, I stamped the large floral image once and the large leaf stamp twice. I then coloured the images using Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. After colouring, I die cut the images using the Cottage Flowers dies.

For the sentiment, I picked the ‘Happy Birthday’ stamp from the Cottage Rose stamp set. I inked it up with Versamark and stamped on Smoky Slate cardstock. After white heat-embossing the sentiment, I trimmed it into strips.

The two large leaves were adhered directly to the card front, but the main floral image was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a simple white twine bow to the front. The gorgeous Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels (which may be my new favourite bling) were added around the design and finally, I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers. So pretty!

Here’s the card…

I love this card so much! It’s quite simple and didn’t take a lot of time either. I think I might make up a few more to have in my stash.
