Create a simple and pretty birthday card (Hand-Penned Petals / Friendly Hello)

Hi everyone, I have another quick and easy card to share with you today. It features the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set, coordinating Penned Flowers die set (also available as a bundle for a 10% discount), the Friendly Hello stamp set as well as the Beautiful Shapes die set. Okay, I can see some of you say that it was quick and easy but that I’ve used quite a number of products. You don’t need to use as many as I have done for this card. Use what you have!

I started by stamping the large line drawing from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set on some Basic White cardstock. Next, I added the colour with the solid stamps from the same stamp set. I used Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight. Of course, I did add some Wink of Stella to the flowers too. While I was still stamping I stamped the birthday greeting from the Friendly Hello stamp set.

Next up, I did my die-cutting. I used the Penned Flowers die set to cut out the main image plus some additional leaves to add more interest. The sentiment was die cut using a fun shape from the fun Beautiful Shapes die set.

For the card base, I chose to use Pool Party cardstock. I decided the card needed a little more texture so I cut another panel of Pool Party cardstock and embossed it with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Before assembling the card I tied some white Bakers Twine around the embossed panel. I also doubled up the twine and created a bow which I attached to the floral image with a Glue Dot. I did pop up the stamped images with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch was to colour some of the white Elegant Faceted Gems with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends and then add them to the card.

This really was a quick and easy card to make. Part of the reason it is so quick is that you don’t have to colour the images, the stamps do all the work. I hope you like the card and you’ll give it a go!
