Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (Coming Home / Itty Bitty Christmas) – CASE the Catalogue

by Kylie

Hi everyone, with Christmas fast approaching it is time to start working on, or at least seriously thinking some more about Christmas cards.  These days I tend to make a few different cards before deciding on a design.  If you are stuck for ideas, take a look at our catalogues.  There are so many fabulous ideas and today I am CASE-ing (Copy And Share Everything) a card which caught my eye.

If you find yourself CASE-ing a card and wondering why your card doesn’t work or doesn’t look the same, keep in mind that in Australia we use A4 paper and decimal sizing, whereas in the USA (where the Stampin’ Up! and their catalogue originates) they use 8.5″x11″ paper and imperial sizes.  Sometimes this difference doesn’t mean much but other times it does…such as with this card.

My card uses products from the Trimming the Town Suite.  The Coming Home stamp set does not have sentiments so I needed to find a different sentiment to go with it.  In the end, I paired it with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas set. After I had die cut all the pieces and started to place them all together I realised that the larger Australian sized card base was going to be a problem.  Given I had already adhered the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper to the card base, I had to find a way to make it work.   In the end, I added another mat under the main panel.  It helped to tie everything together.

Here’s the card

I love the Coming Home stamp set.  You can create such darling scenes.
