Hi everyone! While most people are getting ready for the new year, I’m still a little focused on Christmas, as I needed to make one more Christmas card. This time, I decided to follow Al’s recent suggestion.
After I’d finished making the bulk of our Christmas cards (which you can see here), I asked him which colourway he preferred — pink or green. Clearly, I didn’t phrase the question very well because his reply was, “Well, Santa comes at night… so you could’ve done a blue sky, with maybe some stars and the moon.”
Not exactly the answer I was expecting, but he’s not wrong. So this time, I sponged a couple of shades of dark blue ink — Starry Sky and Night of Navy (Stampin’ Up!®) — onto the card base. Once that was completely dry, I stamped several images from the Upon A Star stamp set by Lawn Fawn using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed them with Lawn Fawn white embossing powder.
The rest of the card came together using the beautiful Concord & 9th Jolly St. Nick stamps, dies and stencils.
Here’s the card…
I have to say, Al wasn’t wrong. The embossed stars against the night sky look great, and it’s definitely something I’d do again.
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
