Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop – August 2021 – Friendship

by Kylie

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently, you’re visiting the blog of Kylie at Stampers Workshop! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. To see the rest of the blogs in the hop, there’s a list below.

The theme for our August 2021 Blog Hop is Friendship.

I loved the theme of this months hop. With the state of the world at the moment, I cannot think of one person who wouldn’t appreciate a card in the mail. I chose the delightful bears from the super cute Count On Me stamp set. This stamp set has the most darling critters along with some super sweet sentiments.

Here’s the card…

In order to create my card, I needed to do some reverse stamping. Have you tried this before? It is fun and pretty easy to do although, to be honest, I usually have a practice run because I always seem to mess up the first go.

Take your stamp, in this case, the bear from the Count On Me stamp set and ink it up. I decided not to ink up the heart for my reverse image as I decided the card only needed one. Once you have inked it up, take your Silicone Craft Sheet and careful stamp the image onto the sheet. This is where it is easy to make a mistake. You want to be careful not to slip. I also tend to hold the stamp in position a bit longer than normal to ensure the ink transfers evenly. Once you have done this step, take the Silicone Craft Sheet and press the inked image onto your Basic White Cardstock. You need to press firmly but try not to squeeze the Silicone Craft Sheet as your transfer the ink as it will cause the ink to move where you don’t want it to be. Stamp the second bear in place and colour with your Stampin’ Blends. Trim this piece to a square approximately 8cm x 7.4cm and put it aside for now.

Next up, take a sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock and create your card base. Add texture with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Take a sheet of Pear Pizzazz and Coastal Cabana paper from the Subtles 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper Pack and cut each down to a rectangle shape to fit on the front of the card. I then scraped the blade of my Paper Snips along the edges to rough them up and add a little more interest.

Attach the patterned paper to your card base and then tie some Linen Thread around the card. Before adding the stamped panel, pick out the sentiment you like and white heat emboss it on some Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I then die cut this with the Messages die set. Yes, this die set really is getting a good workout. Finally, add the stamped panel and the sentiment to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final step is to add some Rhinestones, and some Wink of Stella to the bears.

It was so fun making this card and I do hope you’ll give it a go too!
