Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop – September 2021 – Sending Thanks

by Kylie

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently, you’re visiting the blog of Kylie at Stampers Workshop! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. To see the rest of the blogs in the hop, there’s a list below.

The theme for our September 2021 Blog Hop is Sending Thanks.

I make and send a lot of Thank You cards so I loved this theme. The hardest part was deciding which products to use as there are so many fabulous stamps, dies and papers which could be used. In the end I decided to continue the love fest with the Counting Sheep stamp set. I’m so sad that it will no longer be available after Sale-A-Bration finishes. It was one of my favourite of the freebies.

Here’s the card…

The idea behind this card was to make a fun and punny card. I also wanted to make it look like one of the sheep was handing up the last ‘E’ to create the “Ewe”. I’m not sure I totally succeeded with that but that was the intention.

It was a super simple card to make. I stamped the sheep from the Counting Sheep stamp set, coloured and then die cut them with the coordinating Sheep die. I also die cut the sun and the fences at the same time. Next, I chose my patterned paper for the background. I picked a couple of papers from the Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper pack – so many awesome papers in this pack! I die-cut the grass effect with a die from the Basic Borders die set. I also die cut a white panel from the Layering Dioramas die set. This was supposed to look a little like a cloud in the sky plus enable me to highlight the sentiment.

In hindsight I should have stamped the sentiment and then die cut it but as I was unsure of my plan I did it the other way around. I used the Stamparatus to position it in the right place, plus I then stamped again in Versamark so I could clear emboss it (you could use Black embossing but I don’t have any at the moment). As I wanted the ‘EWE’ to stand out, I added some Foam Adhesive Sheets to the Poppy Parade cardstock before running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

The final step was to put it all together, and of course, add a little Wink of Stella to the sheep, sun and sentiment. So fun!
