Wish You Were Here

by Catherine Carroll

Hi Everyone,

I made a card! lol I almost feel like shouting it from the roof tops. It isn’t my best ever but it is done! Yay! It has been hard to find the time to create over the last week or so. The few times I have had a moment have been unproductive, but today…success! And, I was just looking at the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge for this week and weirdly enough my card fits the sketch. Double yay!

And here is my card:

Wish You Were Here Materials used: Stamps - Fanciful Fall (Paper Smooches), Say Cheese (Lawn Fawn); Wise Dies - Clouds (Paper Smooches); Cardstock - American Crafts, Knights; Hero Arts Shadow Ink - Bubble Gum (Hero Arts); and Copic Markers.

It is not quite what is in my head but given that it took me about five times to get the toadstool coloured in a way I liked, I am MORE than happy with it! 🙂 Inspired to keep creating now. 🙂

Hope you are all happy and well. Big hugs and best wishes to all my Canadian friends as they celebrate their Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Stamping!

So good to see your work back in blogland!! And what a comeback! My sister got a little mushroom house when we lived in Germany (waaaaay long time ago), and this so reminds me that little house. You always manage to evoke the most wonderful emotions with your cards – but that’s exactly what cards are supposed to do! Love that wonderful red. Such a happy card. Love it. Hugs, Bev

I’m so bad at the moment, aren’t I? I haven’t even been reading blogs which mean I haven’t caught up with your news in ages. 🙁 I’m so thrilled my little card brought back some memories and I don’t think I could ask for a sweeter compliment than that which you have just written. Bev, thank you so very, very much! big hugs to you.

Very cute card! I do wish I was there instead of where I am… sounds like I am equally busy to you with no time to craft… and that little house looks so peaceful!!

I do too, Morag! Be nice to have a cute little escape house like that. Thanks so much for stopping by and for taking the time to write too. 🙂

Yayyy…you’re back with such a sweet card – and I’m Ms. Slow Poke in catching up! Amazing how *behind* I get when I’m absent from my routine for a couple days, with a repeat about to happen Friday, as we’re returning to see my family! So excited!! Your take on the PS sketch: delightfully darling! Bev’s trip down memory lane sparked me on a similar journey. Eons ago, my sister and I used to have troll dolls (you’re too young to remember those), who we outfitted in the most stylish clothes imaginable (seriously – we used sort of a ‘triangle-ish pattern’ and decorated away). Not only were they well clad (and coiffed), but we made them a wee house; indeed, a mushroom house! Who would have thought that a stamp like this would be created, never mind stir recollections of childhood fun! And to have YOU share it: only too perfect, my dear friend! I’ll echo Bev: your cards stir the emotions!! Hope you’ll be creating more real soon; love coming to visit, even if I’m tardy at times!! Hugs to you, Kylie!!

Hi C, I am more of a slow-poke than you. I am going to catch up this weekend though. That’s my promise to myself. 🙂 I want to see what you’ve all been up to. So excited for you that you get more family time. Yay! I do remember the troll dolls. 🙂 How cute that you made them a little house too. ADORABLE!! Thanks sooo much for your oh-so-sweet comments, my friend! hugs!

Such a cute little mushroom house, Kylie … the hard word on all those attempts at getting the colours just right was definitely worth it … it stands out in the thumbnails! Anita (in France) 🙂
