Thank You (Blessings of Home)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, recently we had our Demonstrator only event – OnStage@Home. It was so fun. A couple of Australian Demonstrators decided to host an after-party and I was so lucky to be able to attend. Both ladies shared some beautiful projects and reminded me of a couple of techniques I haven’t tried in ages. I’ll be sure to share these ideas in the coming weeks. Today I am sharing a card that features some colour combinations taught at this after-party. It’s so different from my go-to colours and I was surprised by how much I like it. Let’s get into it…

The card features the new Blessings of Home bundle which will be available in the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

To create the card I stamped the main floral image twice in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured them with Stampin’ Blends. We used Light Cajun Craze, Light and Dark Pale Papaya for the smaller flowers. Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Light and Dark Misty Moonlight were the colours we used for the larger flowers. The leaves were coloured with Light and Dark Shaded Spruce! So different but so nice!

After colouring the images, I used the large mat die from the Scalloped Contours die set to cut out one panel. I fussy cut out the top part of the other image. It was then I decided the bottom panel needed something extra. I stamped the main floral image on some Post-It notes, fussy cut them out and then covered the image I had already coloured. I then, very gently, flicked some of the Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend ink over the entire panel. This technique is fabulous but you need to be gentle so you don’t damage the nib too much.

I white heat-embossed the sentiment, also from the Blessings of Home stamp set. I did mask off part of the sentiment as I only wanted the ‘Thank You’ part of it. I then trimmed the sentiment to size and cut apart the words.

When it came to assembling the card I thought I needed to add a little more black to tie in with the sentiment so I trimmed a piece of Basic Black cardstock and matted my coloured panel to it. Next up I ran a card base of Fresh Freesia cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I love the subtle texture this gives.

Finally, I popped up the main panel, the extra coloured image, and the sentiment. I love the texture and dimension – so pretty! Of course, no card could be complete without a coat of Wink of Stella.

If you wanted to dress the card up a little more, you could add some Rhinestones or Ribbon.

Here’s the card…

This was such a fun card to create and it was great to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to colour combinations.

The Heart & Home Suite will be available from 4 January 2022.
