Thank You So Very Much (Butterfly Gala)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, one of the things I love about stamping is that I can express my artistic side even when I cannot paint or draw (well, anything that I would want in the public domain).  Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy for me to be creative and end up with gorgeous projects by creating fantastic stamp sets like Butterfly Gala and the coordinating craft punch.

To create my card all I did was stamp the outline of the butterfly using black ink.  I then used the coordinating solid stamps and inked them in a light colour.  Using the ‘rock ‘n roll’ technique, I added a second darker colour to the edge of the inked stamp.  You don’t need to be too fussy about having it all perfectly even as nature isn’t like this!  It’s fantastic.  As the stamps are photopolymer you can easily see through them to position them in the correct place on the black outline.  All that is left is to use the coordinating punch to punch out the pieces.  I was able to quickly stamp a few different colour combinations – Lemon Lime Twist/Granny Apple Green, Pool Party/Bermuda Bay, and Flirty Flamingo/Melon Mambo.

To create the card I folded a piece of Basic Black cardstock and added a panel of dotty paper from the Botanical Butterfly DSP (which is a freebie you could earn during Sale-A-Bration).   Next up, I stamped the sentiment before mounting it on another piece of Basic Black cardstock.  This panel was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  All that was left was to position the butterflies and add a coat of Wink of Stella.  Voila!  Done!

Here’s the card…

It’s so pretty.  The colours are so vibrant and look so beautiful with the Wink of Stella shimmering.  I hope you’ll give this a try and if you do, please let me know.  I’d love to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie

Seeing this on my big screen is so much better than on my phone. I do love those polka dots, as you well know. And those butterflies look so beautiful! Those colors are amazing, especially the green ones. I would have never in a million years thought to have green butterflies. This is a gorgeous card! Your creativity is stunning. Love this card. GREAT design. xoxo : )

Thanks so much, Bev! At the risk of blowing my own horn, it looks even better in real life. The shimmer looks fantastic! I LOVE the green butterflies. I have a few more scattered over my desk just waiting to be turned into cards. Thanks again, my friend!
