Use Patterned Paper to create a pretty card (Perfectly Pencilled DSP / Cottage Rose)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, one of my favourite products in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue is the Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper. I love the paper because it is so versatile. Some of the papers are perfect for layering, others are perfect for colouring. You can colour them in so many different ways too. One of my preferred colouring mediums is Stampin’ Blends.

Whilst it is tempting to think you can only use the full images in the middle of the patterned paper sheets, the reality is that you can cut it apart and use all these images in different ways. Today’s card features part of the design which is on the edge of the sheet and I’m sure you will agree it looks great!

I started by colouring the flowers with Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. The leaves were coloured with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Next I fussy cut out the flowers from the paper. Because I knew I would be layering this piece on white cardstock, I didn’t worry too much about cutting out all the different pieces which made it a little quicker and easier. You could pop up this piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals if you’d like. Next, I put the panel into my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment (from the Cottage Rose stamp set). I’m glad I did too as I needed to stamp a second time to get full coverage. Once the stamping was done, I trimmed the panel down a little further before adding a Basic Black cardstock mat.

The card base was created from Balmy Blue cardstock and I used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add some gorgeous texture! The main focal panel was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I finished the card by adding some Wink of Stella to the flowers, and some black Classic Matte Dots around the sentiment.

Here’s the card…

I always have such fun colouring these gorgeous patterned papers! You could also change the colouring mediums or colour family to create an entirely different look! So fun!
