Thinking of You (Rooted in Nature)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, today’s card is one I actually made a couple of weeks back.  I was going to share this as my card for the StampingPals June challenge but changed my mind.  I thought it was too busy.  I’ve decided to share it because, well, not every card is a winner and you learn from every card you make.   This card was created using the Joseph’s Coat Technique.  You can see my video here on how to create this technique.  Instead of using Tuxedo Black Memento ink to cover the background, I used the Early Espresso ink.  Otherwise, the technique is the same, so don’t feel you can only do this technique with black ink.

I’ve used the fabulous Rooted in Nature stamp set and the coordinating dies from Nature’s Roots.  I also used one of the label dies from the Tasteful Labels die set. (That’s an awesome set!)

Here’s my card

I used the three colours in the StampingPals challenge – Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso and Terracotta Tile.  I thought they’d be awesome autumnal colours. Next time I create a card like this, I’d like for the background to be more of a star, and not cover it as much.  Isn’t that sentiment (and the font they’ve used) awesome?  I love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
