Kindness comes in many ways… (Beautifully Braided)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, recently as part of the Stampers Anonymous blog hop I shared two cards which were, as I like to call them, the “same but different”.  I often create cards where I only alter a few things because I want to see how they might look. Sometimes I change the colour, or the sentiment, the orientation or something similar.  It’s amazing how different some cards can be just by changing one or two things.

Today’s card features the Beautifully Braided stamp set and is based on the two cards from the Blog Hop.  I’ve substituted the Melon Mambo watercolour pencil for Granny Apple Green.  It’s so pretty too. I finished off the design with a coat of Wink of Stella.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment on vellum.  As vellum has a slick surface it is possible to move the stamp as you press down and I find that using the Stamparatus minimises this possibility.  The Black Memento ink also doesn’t dry quickly so I added some Clear Embossing Powder to set it and give it a shiny finish.

The card looked a little dark so I die cut a heart from the Stitched Labels die to give it a pop of colour.  The final touch was to add some Rhinestones.

Here’s the card…

I have to say I really love this card too.  It’s been such a fun style to stamp and recreate changing up a couple of details every time.  I want to encourage you to do this sort of thing too.  It’s how you work out what you like, what works or what doesn’t work.  The recipients of your cards certainly won’t know that their card is similar to another.  Just play and try things over and over.  It’s fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
