Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #41: Sketch Challenge

Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our April 2022 Blog Hop is a SKetch Challenge. We were challenged to create a card based on the sketch below.

Here’s the Challenge…

I love this sketch! I knew immediately the Blessings of Home Bundle would be perfect for this sketch and for me as I really felt like colouring! I started by randomly stamping the main floral image from the Blessings of Home stamp set. My next step was to actually colour the background with the Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends marker. Once this was complete I added some Isopropyl Alcohol to a textured rag and pounced it over the background to add some interest. I then finished colouring the images with my Stampin’ Blends. Of course, I did add some Wink of Stella to the flowers to give them a little more shimmer and shine.

Once the image was coloured I die cut it with the Stitched Rectangles dies and then matted it on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back as I knew I was going to pop it up on the card base. The card base was made from Night of Navy cardstock and I wanted some more interest here too so I die cut it with the Stitched Greenery die. Yes, this is now my new favourite die for creating interesting backgrounds! I then added the main focal panel.

For the sentiment, I used the Stamparatus to help me stamp it. You could just mask and stamp but I thought it might help me stamp a little straighter. It didn’t but that was because I didn’t line it up perfectly but it definitely helped me! I then die cut the sentiment with the Stitched Rectangles dies. I also die cut a lot of leaves from the Flowers of Home die set so that I could add them behind the sentiment. I popped up the sentiment and the card was done.

Here’s the card…

The Stitched Greenery die hasn’t caught my eye until now! Such a pretty card and I always love to see your colouring skills.

Aw, thanks so much, Olivia! To be honest, when I got the die I didn’t think I would use it much but now I’m using it ALL the time! 🙂
