Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #46: Sketch Challenge

Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our September 2022 Blog Hop is a Sketch Challenge. For this challenge, we needed to make a project based on the sketch below.

Here’s the Challenge…

Sometimes you look at a sketch and you know immediately what you are going to do and fortunately, this is what happened with me and this sketch. I thought the Hues of Happiness Suite would be the perfect starting point.

My creative process was a little different with this card. I started by die-cutting quite a few different floral images from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper pack. I wasn’t sure of the colours I wanted to use so by die cutting many different colours and sizes of flowers I would have a lot to choose from. Once I’d finished, I played around with combinations until I found the one I liked the most. (To keep the card simple, I chose to die-cut the floral images from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper pack rather than stamping and colouring images from the Happiness Abounds stamp set, but you could easily do this if you wanted.) Then I chose the coordinating cardstock – Granny Apple Green for the card base and Flirty Flamingo for the sentiment strip.

To add a little more interest to the card base I cut another panel of Granny Apple Green and then die cut it using the background die from the Blossoming Happiness die set. This panel was then adhered directly to the card front using Seal adhesive. You could pop this panel up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add even more interest. On this panel, I layered the die-cut flowers and leaves.

For the sentiment, I used the ‘Happy Birthday’ stamp from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. I inked the stamp in Versamark, and stamped it on Flirty Flamingo cardstock before white heat-embossing it. I trimmed the sentiment to size and layered this on the card too.

To finish off the card I added a bow of white Twine and some Iridescent Pearls (yes, they are definitely my new favourite embellishment).

Here’s the card…
Let’s continue on the hop…
