Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #52: Colour Challenge

by Kylie
Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our March 2023 Blog Hop is a Colour Challenge. For this challenge, we need to make a project using Pale Papaya, Parakeet Party and Pool Party. We are also allowed to use Basic Black, Basic White and/or Very Vanilla.

Here’s the Challenge…

Whenever we do a colour challenge the first thing I do is take the inkpads and swatch them. This way I can see how they work together and it helps me decide how to proceed. The new Irresistible Blooms bundle was sitting on my desk and I thought colours would work well with these designs.

I started by stamping heaps of leaves in Parakaeet Party ink on Basic White cardstock. Next, I stamped heaps of flowers in both Pale Papaya and Pool Party. I tend to stamp more than I think I will need so that I can play around with my design and not have to stop to stamp more. After die-cutting them out using the Irresistible Blooms dies, I also die-cut the scalloped die from the Scalloped Contours die set from Basic White cardstock.

I used one of the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders to add some texture to my card base.

The sentiment, from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set, was inked up with Versamark and stamped on Pool Party cardstock before it was white heat-embossed. I trimmed this to size with the Paper Trimmer.

Using a Blending Brush, I added extra colour to my leaves and flowers. I also added some Pool Party to the scalloped die-cut piece. I inked the texture stamp (also from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set), stamped it off then stamped over this die-cut piece to give it a little more interest.

Next, I adhered everything to the card with Seal and Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and finished the card with some Iridescent Pearls.

As I had stamped heaps of extra pieces, I decided to make a couple more cards and they are also shared below. This time, I switched up which colour would be my background and sentiment. So fun!

Here’s the card…

Here are a couple more…
