Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #53: Sketch Challenge

Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our April 2023 Blog Hop is a Sketch Challenge. For this challenge, we need to make a project based on the sketch below.

Here’s the Challenge…

Upon seeing this sketch, I realized that I rarely incorporate ovals into my card designs. The only dies I have that cut ovals are from the Framed Florets die set so that is how I chose which products to use for my card. My next thought was about which colours to use and since the Polished Pink is retiring (and the Stampin’ Blends have now sold out) and I *love* it, I wanted to use it one last time.

I started by creating a card base from Basic Gray cardstock. I also cut another panel and then ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with one of the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders.

Next, I stamped the images, from the Framed Florets, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White cardstock. I used three of the flower images to represent the three spots on the sketch but also stamped up some extra leaves to add a little more interest. I coloured them in with Granny Apple Green, Polished Pink and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends before die-cutting them with the coordinating Framed Florets dies.

The sentiment, also from the Framed Florets stamp set, was stamped in Versamark on Basic White cardstock and then silver heat-embossed. I trimmed this to size.

I used the largest of the frames from the Framed Florets die set and cut out some of the patterned vellum from the Vellum Basics 12×12 Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I also added a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to a piece of Silver Foil and ran this same die through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. This was both a good idea as it added foam adhesive to entirety of the die but it was also a nightmare as it took me FOREVER to remove all the fiddly little pieces.

Once everything was cut, I adhered it all together and then added some Wink of Stella to the flowers. I finished off the design by adding some Heart Pearls.

Here’s the card…

Lovely card Kylie. This was the original set I was going to use before I left it to last minute to create my card. I already had the flowers die cut from the Hues of Happiness dsp so that’s why I went that in the end.

Very elegant card! The flowers look really pretty in Polished Pink. I’m sad that it’s retiring too!
