Hi, I love it when things come together effortlessly…as it doesn’t always! I had taken out the Petal Garden Card Pack to work with and came across a gorgeous background of leaves which was stunning. I had placed it on the table to find other things to go with it. It just so happens I still had some coloured floral images from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper lying on the table. They looked so good together so I had to make another card!

I also can’t stop colouring the floral images from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is truly gorgeous! I love that you can use the sheet as is, or colour it and use it as a background, cut out images from the sheet, or colour in and then cut out the images. So many options.

I LOVE how pretty the Springtimes Foil Specialty Designer Paper is. It is impossible to make a horrible card using it. lol Don’t you just love the fabulous background Petal Garden card too? Gorgeous!

A trio of cards (Springtime Foils Specialty DSP)

Hi, just when you thought I had stepped away from using the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper, I’m back with not one, but three cards! I love this paper! I’m sure you can tell that!

This is another set of cards where they are similar but different. Cards like these are great because all I do is vary one or two items (such as the design, colour, sentiment, or embellishments) and the cards look completely different. It shows that you can use the same supplies and create a never-ending number of cards. Of course, when you then throw in other card designs, use different stamps sets in combination you can make even more cards. It really helps you get the most out of your crafting investments.

For all three cards, all I did was colour the Floral design from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper with my Stampin’ Blends. I picked out different colour combinations as I was curious as to how the different colours might look. (And forgive the colouring, I did so in low light and hadn’t realised it was a little ‘rough’). Next, I mounted each panel on gold but I positioned them in different places on the card bases.

I stamped my chosen sentiments in Versamark ink and gold embossed them so they would coordinate with the gold foil sheets. I then adhered them all to card bases. Quick, easy and they look so good!

I love this look and I have really enjoyed creating with the gorgeous Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper (which you can earn for free, with a qualifying order, during Sale-A-Bration). I really love all three colour combinations but today I think the Pool Party card is my favourite. Do you have a favourite?

One Big Meaning Sale-A-Bration

Hi, today’s card features the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper and it is another quick and easy card. I love the simplicity of this card and the impact it has especially with gold / rose-gold bling.

The construction of this card is very simple. I coloured a sheet of the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper and then trimmed it to size. I then matted this panel on a Gold Foil Sheet.

Next up, I stamped the sentiment from the One Big Meaning stamp set. I didn’t want the entire sentiment so I covered it with a post-it note as I was inking it up with Versamark Ink. I embossed this sentiment with gold embossing powder. Then I matted it on some more of the Gold Foil Sheet.

You might remember me telling you some of the extra benefits of the Stampin’ Blends when they were first released. They are GREAT for colouring but they are also great for changing the colour of rhinestones to match your project. They also work really well when you don’t have the right colour ribbon to match your project. Simply grab some white ribbon and colour it with your Stampin’ Blends. That’s what I did for the card below. Shhh! No one will ever know our secret! 😉

Large Letters Framelits Sale-A-Bration Technique

LOVE – Eclipse Technique (Springtime Foils Specialty DSP)

Hi, one technique which has received renewed popularity in recent months is the Eclipse technique. It is a surprisingly simple one but one which, I think, looks so effective. You can create a really subtle look like the card I have or you can do something which is much bolder.

To create the card, I coloured the new Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper with my Stampin’ Blends! Yes, I LOVE colouring with these markers! I placed the letter dies from the Large Letters Framelits set in the position I wanted them and used a post-it note to hold them in place. Then I ran this panel through the Big Shot. Be careful not to lose any pieces as you need them all for this technique.

The next step is to adhere your die cut panel to either your card base or in this case another panel of a gold foil sheet. If there are any ‘centres’ of letters, like for the O, make sure you stick them down to this panel as well. I then used the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the die cut letters back in place. I then layered this complete panel to a Rich Razzleberry cardstock base.

The beauty of a technique like this is that it works with patterned paper, like my card above, or you could stamp your own background. Have you given this technique a try? I hope you do!

Sale-A-Bration

16 (Springtime Foils Specialty DSP)

Hi, it was my niece’s sweet 16th birthday during the week. (I can’t believe it! Where does the time go?) I wanted to make her a card which was a little more sophisticated and since I had the gorgeous Springtime Foils Specialty DSP still out, it seemed like the perfect choice. I actually CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) myself for this design. When I made the card I shared yesterday, I loved it so much, I used it as inspiration for Abbey’s birthday card.

There are some subtle changes and some more obvious changes. For example, I trimmed the coloured panel and centred it on the base card so you could see a strip of white on each side. Instead of using a circle for the sentiment, I decided to go for a heart upon which I layered the number “16”. I tied some Gold Metallic Thread around the card to finish it off.

This card illustrates one of the things I love about card making. You can use the same materials and create so many different cards. Just imagine how many different cards you can come up with when you vary the colour, design, orientation, sentiment, and the embellishments. The scope is enormous! Then you really start to get value for money from each and every product you buy.

Hi, I cannot stop colouring the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper – particularly the beautiful floral design. It is so addictive, and relaxing! You don’t have to colour the paper as it looks amazing just as it is! I love to colour though and I love the different looks you can achieve.

For today’s card I coloured the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP with just a few of my Stampin’ Blends – Light Old Olive, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Pink Pirouette and Dark Pink Pirouette. I didn’t do any fancy shading, just added colour. So, if you think you need to be a whiz with colouring, you really don’t need to be to create this card. I adhered this completed sheet to a Whisper White thick cardstock base.

Next up I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and embossed it in gold before cutting it out with a stitched circle die. I added this to a scalloped circle die cut from Pink Pirouette cardstock. This panel was then attached to the card so it hung over the edge. The overhang was trimmed off.

To finish off the card I added some Whisper White Bakers twine but then I decided the card needed one last thing – BLING! With my Pink Pirouette marker I coloured a few rhinestones and then added them to the card.

Another way to vary this card design is to pop up the sentiment panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and run the twine (or even a pretty ribbon) underneath.

Isn’t is so pretty with the softness of the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends? This card design would also look amazing if done in Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight or even a combination of Dark Pink Pirouette and Light Rich Razzleberry. What other colours do you think it would work with?

Occasions Petal Palette Sale-A-Bration Stampin' Blends

Best Wishes in Pool Party (Springtime Foils Specialty DSP/Petal Palette)

Hi, have I told you how GORGEOUS the new Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is?! I’ve spent a little bit more time colouring the floral sheet with my Stampin’ Blends and I love the soft look you can achieve. Whilst I love Pink Pirouette, I thought it might be fun to try some other colours and the Pool Party looks fabulous! (So does the Calypso Coral, but I haven’t made that into a card yet!)

To create the card I am sharing today, I coloured in a few different flowers from the floral sheet which is part of the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. I cut them out and put them aside. Next, I grabbed a sheet of vellum and cut it to be slightly smaller than my card base. I placed this panel in the new Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot. It looks SO good!

In order to hide my adhesive, I first adhered the coloured flowers on to the vellum sheet. Next, I flipped this panel over and placed adhesive in all the places covered by the flowers. I then stuck this panel to my Pool Party Cardstock base.

For the sentiment, I simply stamped the greeting in versamark ink and used gold embossing powder. I then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card I added a few rhinestones.

I love how elegant this card is. It is so much prettier in person. It is difficult to capture the beauty of the foil on camera.

Hi, another GORGEOUS item which is coming in the new Sale-A-Bration release on February 16, 2018 is the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. You are going to LOVE these papers. They are stunning! They are a heavy-weight paper with beautiful designs in gold foil, silver foil and rose gold foil. There are three sheets of 4 single-sided designs.

I truly wish I could take credit for the card I am sharing today as it is beautiful. It’s a sample in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. As I always remind you, it is fine to CASE the catalogue or use other designers for inspiration, just remember to give credit where it is due.

For this card, I used my Stampin’ Blends to colour in flowers and leaves from one of the sheets of the new Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. I then trimmed the elements out and adhered them, with Stampin’ Dimensionals, to a label cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies. (These are one of my favourite die sets!) I added a sentiment (from the Petal Palette stamp set) which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder before layering on a strip of gold foil paper. A white bow, tied with Whisper White Baker’s Twine, was added to give a little more interest.

The base card was made from Pink Pirouette cardstock and a small panel of the rose gold foil paper was adhered to the base. The beautifully decorated panel was then adhered to the top using more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t this a pretty card!?! I think the original creator is so talented. I think I might have to make a few more to have in my stash!
