Welcome to May 2021! (New Host Code)

Happy May 2021! We are in for such a good month on the stamping front this month. There’s so much happening! The biggest news is that the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue will launch in just a few days with a FANTASTIC Joining bonus. Have you received yours yet? Almost all of the catalogues have now been posted. I have a few more to send out next week. I’ve already been through it and made my wish list – it is HUGE! So many awesome products. I know you are going to love it too.

On the not so awesome front, we are also only a few days away from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue retiring which means any product not moving on to the new catalogue will no longer be available.

Of course, we also have the latest challenge from the StampingPals and there’s a new Host Code for May! Let’s get into it…

StampingPals Challenge #15 | Colour Challenge

Hi everyone! Welcome to the StampingPals Challenge for May 2021.  This month we have a colour challenge and you can see it below.  We were challenged to create a card using Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. You could also choose to add Basic Black, Basic White and/or Very Vanilla.

Here’s the Challenge…

Colour challenges can be just that – challenging! At first, I had no idea where to start and so I pulled out all the ink and swatched the colours to see how they worked together. They looked so pretty and before I knew it I had created a really pretty background. I really wanted that background to be the focus of my card and the Bokeh Technique popped into my head. Have you heard of this technique? It’s actually really simple and looks super pretty. Bokeh is “the blurred quality or effect seen in the out-of-focus portion of a photograph taken with a narrow depth of field” (Mirriam-Webster Dictionary). That’s the type of effect I wanted to create!

To create the card, I created a sponged a background of Melon Mambo, Highland Heather, and Pumpkin Pie using the Blending Brushes. Next up, I created my own template using the Layering Circles dies. Once this was created, I sponged White ink over my card base. Immediately, the Bokeh look began to appear. So cool! The card was finished with a sentiment stamped and embossed on vellum. The sentiment is from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. I die cut the sentiment out using the Scalloped Contours dies (which will be available from 4 May 2021).

Add some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the vellum. I try to stick to the areas where I have the embossing so that it doesn’t show through the other side. Add some White Twine (from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack), a few gems from the Elegant Faceted Gems and you are done!

Welcome to April 2021! (New Host Code)

Happy April 2021! There’s so much happening behind the scenes with Stampin’ Up!® this month. We started the Pre-Order period for the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue (and I think you are going to love the new things coming). I placed my order late last night (one of the perks of living in Western Australia) so I am hoping my goodies will arrive by the end of next week! Keep your fingers crossed! I cannot start sharing any sneak peeks or pictures until later in the month but if you cannot wait, then consider signing up yourself (you are able to add items from the Pre-Order into your Starter Kit).

Speaking of the new catalogue, if you have placed an order with me any time over the past six months until 30 March, I have arranged for a complimentary catalogue to be sent directly to you. If you placed an order in the last couple of days, I will be sending you a complimentary catalogue as soon as I get my order. Keep an eye on your mailbox!

Another fun thing happening this month is the Demonstrator only OnStage event which is all about the launch of the new catalogue. It’s being spread over a couple of different dates and I’m attending mine on April 17. I cannot wait!! Once again, I cannot share anything yet but as soon as I can…I sure will!

StampingPals Challenge #14 | Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! Welcome to the StampingPals Challenge for April 2021.  This month we have a sketch challenge and you can see it below. 

Here’s the Challenge…

I love a sketch challenge. Sometimes I find them to be so easy but other times I struggle. I don’t know why! This one, however, was SO fun! I chose to use products from the Fine Art Floral Suite Collection. Whilst it can be fun to mix and match products, it is also fun to be able to pick up one suite and know everything just works!

I had such fun with this sketch and using the Fine Art Floral Suite. I think it might be fun to replicate this design – which is quite simple – with some of the other colours featured in this collection.

Welcome to March 2021! (New Host Code)

Happy March 2021! Wow! March already! This year seems to be flying by so quickly! Did you enjoy Sale-A-Bration? It was so fun, wasn’t it?! Lots of fabulous freebies. I know I added to my stash and have been thoroughly enjoying creating with the goodies I received.

StampingPals Challenge #13 | Fabulous Folds

Hi everyone! Welcome to the StampingPals Challenge for March 2021.  This month we have a theme challenge.  We were challenged to make a card with a Fabulous Fold.

Here’s the Challenge…

I don’t tend to make a lot of cards with fun folds…and I don’t know why. They look so good and many of them are also very simple. For this particular challenge, I decided to go with a Gatefold card. It’s simple but effective.

To create this card, all you need to do is score the card so that the sides meet in the middle. Simply cut an A4 sheet in half at 14.85cm. Next score this sheet at 5.25cm from each end.

I added a panel of Basic White cardstock, die-cut from the Stitched So Sweetly dies, to the front of the card but make sure you only adhere this to one side of the card. Add some butterflies which are die cut from the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper (which will be available from 2 March 2021). They are so pretty! Once again, make sure you only adhere the butterflies to one side of the card or the die-cut panel. We don’t want to accidentally adhere anything to the other side of the Gatefold card as it won’t be able to be opened. Add the sentiment (from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set) and you are done! You now have a quick, easy and really pretty card!

Welcome to February 2021! (New Hostess Code)

Happy February 2021!  Well, this post comes as the area I now call home settles into a 5 day mandatory lockdown period.  After nearly 10 months without community transmission of Covid in Western Australia, we had one case confirmed yesterday.  Here’s hoping this lockdown gets things in check very soon.  We still have plenty to do around the house but I guess I might just have to spend a lot of time setting up my new craft room over the coming days.  For those of you who are interested, I have shared a few pictures of my new space as it comes together on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page.

Sneak Peek – Hey Chick Bundle – COMING TOMORROW!

I’m so excited to tell you about a couple of new products which are coming TOMORROW!  They are the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles (also available as separate stamps and dies).  You can already get the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and soon you will also be able to get the coordinating die set.

If you have been using Stampin’ Up!® products for a while you might remember the Hey Chick Stamp Set – it was a Sale-A-Bration freebie back in 2017.  Stampin’ Up!® was blown away by how much everyone loved the Hey Chick Stamp Set they decided to bring it back—along with coordinating dies and a completely new bundle created in the same style. StampingPals Challenge #12 | Favourite Technique

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the StampingPals Challenge for February 2021.  This month we have a theme challenge.  We were challenged to make a card using our Favourite Technique.

The hardest thing about this challenge was deciding which technique was actually my favourite – I like so many!  In the end, I went with the Joseph’s Coat technique.  If you aren’t familiar with this technique, I do have a video showing this process. You can view it here.

I love the subtle look but you can certainly use brighter colours and really make the images pop!

StampingPals Challenge #11 | Colour Challenge

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the StampingPals Challenge for January 2021.  This month we have a colour challenge.  I really loved the colour combination we have this month.  We had to use Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.  You can also add a neutral – Basic Black, Very Vanilla or Whisper White.

These colours automatically made me think of nature and the Forever & Always stamp set was sitting on my table so…that was definitely going to be the stamp set I decided to use.  I actually love the look of the blue flowers for something a little different.

Welcome to December 2020! (New Host Code)

Happy December 2020!    Wow!  Here we are at the start of the last month of the year…and what a year it has been!  Let’s hope December brings some more normality to life.  Today is an exciting day for me as I’ve just been released from my 14 days hotel quarantine.  It definitely had some highs and some lows but I’m looking forward to starting to explore my new home state.  And just quietly I cannot wait to set up my new craft room!  YAY!

Another exciting thing which is happening today is that all Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators are allowed to start ordering from the new January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue.  The catalogue goes live to customers from 5 January 2020 and coincides with the new Sale-A-Bration promotion.  I’ve been working on my wish list for a couple of weeks now and I confess my order has already been placed.  It’s awesome because I also got to take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration freebies.  If you cannot wait until the public release of this catalogue, consider signing up.  There’s no obligation to do anything but you do get early access to products, and at a discounted price too.   If you have ordered from me over the past 6 months, the new Mini Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration catalogues will be automatically sent to you…and you are going to LOVE all the goodies on each and every page.
