Thank you (Beautifully Happy / Perfectly Pencilled DSP)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, I am sharing the second card in my “similar, but different” series featuring the gorgeous Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper. The idea behind this series is two-fold. One, I love one of the flower designs in this paper pack so much I cannot stop using it, and, two, often when I’m creating I wonder how things might look if I made a different decision. Instead of wondering, I decided to make all the card designs – well, a few of them anyway.

For this card, I started by colouring in the flowers on one of the sheets of paper with the Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. After fussy-cutting the flower I put it aside to use later.

The card base was created with Basic Black cardstock which I embossed with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder. This is a great set of embossing folders. I decided the card was very black and thought it needed some vellum to break it up. I used my favourite die from the Scalloped Contours die set, and die-cut the vellum. After laying this piece on top of the card front, I thought it looked a little plain so I took a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and traced around the “stitched” part of the design. The new tip on the marker is so much better than the old style – it’s thicker and writes so well.

Next, I stamped the sentiment, from the Beautifully Happy stamp set, with Versamark and then white heat-embossed it. I fussy-cut around the sentiment.

The next step was to adhere everything to the card. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the flower design but adhered everything else with Fine-Tip Glue. Of course, I added some shimmer with the Close to My Heart Clear Shimmer Brush.

While I could have left the card there, I thought it needed a little more so I added some Rhinestones and a bow of White Baker’s Twine.

Here’s the card…

I was so pleased with how this card ended up. It’s so pretty in real life. Of course, you know I LOVE this paper and I think it is hard to make a bad card when using it. Pop back soon to see how I make another “similar, but different” card using this same paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
