You’re Kind of a BIG DEAL (Whale Done)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a super quick and easy card using the Whale of a Time suite.  If you haven’t seen this suite yet, I encourage you to check it out.  One of my favourite parts of this suite is the absolutely gorgeous Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper.  I never really use a lot of patterned paper but with this suite, I cannot seem to stop using it.  It’s beautiful!  One sheet of paper enables you to make the most fabulous quick and easy cards but of course, you can always step it up if you decide to do so.

For this card, I actually had an offcut of a piece of paper on my desk from an earlier project (which is why this card isn’t a standard size).  I created a card base from a sheet of Pretty Peacock cardstock and then adhered the Whale of a Time patterned paper to the top.

To create the multicoloured greeting, I inked up the stamp with Granny Apple Green ink and then used a Sponge Dauber to add some of the Pretty Peacock ink to the top.  I used this same technique, and colour palette when inking up the whale.  I used the coordinating punch to cut out the whale and the Layering Circle Dies to cut out the sentiment and mat.

The final touch for the card was to add some sequins.  I could have used the Whale of a Time Sequins but I already had out the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins so I used them to finish off the card.

Here’s the card

This is a really simple card, but I love it.  You could easily step it up a little by adding additional stamped images, or a creative fold but if you are in a hurry, I think this card has a really great look about it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
