Create a BRIGHT birthday card (Sending Smiles)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, have you all checked out the new 2022-2024 In Colors coming 3 May 2022? They are all gorgeous and I really wanted to start creating with them. I thought it would be fun to return to an old favourite technique. It’s a super easy technique. Select your favourite embossing folder and emboss some Basic White cardstock. Colour in the embossed images with your Stampin’ Blends. Finish the card with a sentiment and you are done. I love it!

Here are the new In Colors…

I picked the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder to create my card. I coloured the embossed parts with Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends (available 3 May 2022), as well as Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends for the centres of the flowers. I also added some Wink of Stella to the flowers because…I love the shimmer! Next, I added the coloured embossed image to an Orchid Oasis card base. It’s a really bright design so I added a strip of Vellum over the area where the sentiment was to go. I felt it needed that separation. The sentiment and small flower embellishments come from the new Sending Smiles Bundle. I added a few Rhinestones to the centre of the die-cut flowers to finish off the design.

Here’s the card…

What do you think of the bright colours? It really does pack a bit of a punch! Of course, you could always use subtle colours, or more traditional flower colours depending on your recipient. I love technique too. I return to it again and again. I find it really relaxing to colour in all the elements.

All of the new supplies featured in today’s cards will be available in my online store from 3 May 2022. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
