Create a pretty birthday card with the Abigail Rose DSP (Cottage Rose)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, I think by now you all know I am a sucker for patterned paper I can colour. The Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper pack has a couple of different designs but I am currently crushing on one in particular and this is going to be the focus of today’s card.

I spent some time colouring a sheet with Stampin’ Blends (Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya and Petal Pink) and then fussy cutting them out. I always colour in the edge pieces as I use them for cards too, whether they become part of the front of the card, or simply to dress up the inside of the card. In fact, the piece I used for today’s card is actually an edge piece.

The card base was made from Crumb Cake cardstock. I then added a panel of the ledger style of paper from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper pack. Now, I adhered this pattern to the card base on a jaunty angle but I think if I was to make this card again I would have kept it straight. The floral image was then popped up on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I chose a stamp from the coordinating Cottage Rose stamp set. I stamped the ‘Happy Birthday’ in Versamark on Crumb Cake cardstock before white heat-embossing it. It was then die cut using a Stitched Rectangle die. I popped it up on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off the card, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers, some Pearls around the design and a bow made from Baker’s Twine.

Here’s the card…

I’m loving this card! The flowers are gorgeous and I love the colours. Would you use similar colours or go with something else? Let me know in the comments below.
