Create your own patterned paper using stamps (Hand-Penned Petals)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, have you ever tried stamping your own patterned paper to use in your cardmaking? It’s something I love to do! The solid images in the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set are perfect for this type of technique.

I started by choosing my colours – Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party. I assigned each stamp a colour and then randomly stamped over a panel of Basic White cardstock. Once finished, I trimmed it to size and layered it on a piece of Pool Party cardstock. The Calypso Coral card base was stamped all over with the large floral lined stamp (in Calypso Coral ink).

I wrapped a length of Linen Thread twice around my main panel. It needed something more so I doubled up a length of the same Linen Thread, tied it in a bow and attached it with a Glue Dot.

For the sentiment, I stamped “Feel Better Friend” in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamped over the top with a floral image in Pool Party. I love this look! It was then die cut with the Layering Circles dies and layered on a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock which had been die cut using a scalloped circle die, also from the Layering Circles die set.

I assembled the card and finished it off with a few Rhinestones. A quick and easy card!

Here’s the card…

What’s great about cards like this is that it is easy to replicate, it looks good in different colourways and you can easily switch out that sentiment for another making it perfect for nearly any occasion! So fun! I hope you’ll give it a go. All the products you need can be found in my online store here.
