Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop – February 2022 – Home Sweet Home

by Kylie

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently, you’re visiting the blog of Kylie at Stampers Workshop! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. To see the rest of the blogs in the hop, there’s a list below.

The theme for our February 2022 Blog Hop is Home Sweet Home.

For this theme, I was initially quite clueless. I then spied the What A Year Memories and More Card Pack on my desk (where they have been sitting since I first received them) and remembered they had a couple of really cute cards with houses on them. I thought they would make such a fun card for someone who has just moved into a new home. I cut out one of the cards and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.

For the card base, I chose some Coastal Cabana cardstock and then embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I then added a strip of Basic White cardstock to the bottom. It really wasn’t meant to represent snow or anything like that, although it certainly could; I just felt it grounded my houses. I then added some clouds which had been die cut using the Brilliant Rainbow dies.

I aligned the houses piece with the left side of the card. I would normally centre these sorts of images but I think this looks great off centre. Of course, no card would be complete without a little bling so I added some Wink of Stella to the rooftops and the front doors. So sweet!

The final touch was to add the sentiment. The ‘Congratulations’ comes from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set. It was white heat-embossed on some Pool Party cardstock before being matted on a Polished Pink heart. The heart was die cut from the Give It A Whirl die set. I tied some white Baker’s Twine in a bow and then layered the three items before adding them to my card.

Here’s the card…

I had such fun with this challenge particularly because I finally used more of the What A Year Memories & More Cards. Would you believe that when they were first released I actually purchased TWO packets as I loved the cards so much! I then fell into that trap that happens sometimes which is that I was afraid to use them. The cards are so beautiful! And now…well, I cannot wait to use more of them!

Let’s continue on the hop…

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. To continue on the hop here is a list of all the participants.

Thanks so much for hopping along with us. I hope you will hop around all the blogs. You’ll be so inspired by the talent of the rest of the group like I am each and every month!
