Happy Easter! (Daffodil Daydream)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, Happy Easter! I hope you are all enjoying this Easter weekend. I hope you have a great day tomorrow and that you get to spend it with those you love most. I’m heading to an Orphan’s Breakfast as my partner is at work this week. To thank the hostess for having me I’m taking some chocolates and I’ve made her a card featuring the Daffodil Daydream bundle. I’ve used the Daffodil Daydream stamp set to make a couple of cards now but I hadn’t used the dies to make the die-cut daffodils. I don’t know why I waited so long. They are easy to make and I think they look so good!

While you could die cut each of the pieces from coloured cardstock, I thought it would take less time to die cut everything from Basic White cardstock and then add the colour with ink and Blending Brushes. I could also add a little depth of colour – lighter in some areas, and darker in others. After I added the ink, I layered the daffodils together. It was at this point I wished I had used Adhesive Sheets before die-cutting. Oh well, next time! I used my Fine-Tip Glue to adhere the pieces together and put them aside to dry.

The card base was created from Pool Party cardstock. I cut another panel of this same cardstock and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. I love this look! I added this directly to the card base with Seal+. I tend to use Seal+ adhesive when adhering really textured pieces like this as it is a stronger adhesive.

Next, I layered on the daffodils and the sentiment. The sentiment, from Daffodil Daydream, was stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White cardstock. It was then die cut using a die from the Scalloped Contours die set. I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the stems. I added a bow with the Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack. The final touch was to add some pearls and Wink of Stella.

Here’s the card…

I really wish you could see how pretty the daffodils look in real life. They are a gorgeous colour and the Wink of Stella gives it such a pretty shimmer. I do hope the recipient will love it!

All of the supplies used to create this card can be found in my online store. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
