Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Wherever you are today, I hope you are spending at least part of the day with your loved ones.  I’m sharing a bold coloured card but one which is surprisingly easy to put together – and you could easily whip up two cards at the same time.

Let’s get started.  For this card,  I grabbed two sheets of cardstock – Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette.  Then I took the Sweet & Sassy Framelits dies and selected some of the nested hearts.  I lined them up and used a post-it note to hold them in place before die-cutting both colours of cardstock.  Before I put away the dies, I removed the largest of the hearts dies and used it to die cut a heart from regular Whisper White cardstock. (If you are adhering the hearts directly to your background you won’t need to do this step but I wanted to pop my heart up with Stampin’ Dimensionals so needed the extra stability).  Next up, I added adhesive to the top of the Whisper White cardstock heart and then layered the die cut pieces on top, alternating between the Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo. (And this is how you end up with two hearts!)

While my Big Shot was still out I die cut the word “love” from the Sunshine Wishes dies set.  I cut it out three times – two in white and one in black as I wanted to layer the words together to give it extra dimension.  I find it easier to do it this way because of the intricacies of the die rather than trying to squeeze Stampin’ Dimensionals behind it.  I then adhered this word die to the top of my heart.

For the card base, I used some Basic Black cardstock and added a panel of pretty floral paper from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.  I added just a strip of Basic Black to break up the panel a little before I adhered the heart to the top.  The last step was to add a silver heart from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack.  And there you have a quick and easy card.

Here’s the card…

If you are ever in a hurry to create a card which is fast but packs a punch, consider trying this technique.  It is super easy but really looks great.  And don’t forget you have the other heart pieces so you could quickly whip up a second card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
