Season’s Greetings (Penguin Playmates DSP / Penguin Place stamp set)

by Kylie

Hi, today I wanted to share a different way to use the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. Instead of creating a card, we are going to create a couple of cute tags for Christmas. What I love about the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (which could be yours for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration) is that it can be used with the Penguin Place bundle as it coordinates perfectly or it can be used on its own.

Okay, let’s get onto today’s project. These tags are super quick and easy to make. They are super cute and you are going to love them!

Start by fussy cutting some of the critters from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. I usually cut up a heap so I can pick and choose while I am designing my project. I can also make multiples if I have enough pieces prepared.

Next, die-cut the tag and the reinforcement rings using the Tailor Made Tags dies. I used the largest of both die designs and die-cut one tag from a piece of patterned paper as well as two tags from Basic White cardstock. I adhered one of the white tags to the back of the patterned paper to give it more strength and also so I had lots of room to write my message. With the second white tag, I used the Basic Borders die to create a snowbank. Of course, you don’t need to use a die to create the snowbank. You could cut it by hand or tear it for a cool effect.

Choose your sentiment and white heat emboss it on Fresh Freesia Cardstock. I chose a sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set. As I wanted the sentiment strip to jut up to the edge of the card I did more cutting. I first die cut the shape of the sentiment from the Messages die. I then used the Tailor Made Tags die to give it that stitched effect along the left-hand side.

All the pieces were then adhered to the tag with Seal although I did use Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the paper reinforcement rings as I wanted to ensure they had a good covering of adhesive.

To finish of tags I threaded through some White Glittered Organdy Ribbon and tied it with a bow of White Bakers Twine which I dyed with Fresh Freesia ink.

Here are the tags…

Do you make a lot of tags? I don’t usually but I have to say they are a lot of fun and I think I’d like to make more.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!
