Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #37: Colour Challenge

by Kylie
Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our December 2021 Blog Hop is a Colour Challenge. We were challenged to create a card using Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Gray Granite. As always, we are allowed to add a neutral like Basic Black, Basic White and/or Very Vanilla.

Here’s the Challenge…

Here’s the card…

While considering what to make for this challenge, I was looking through my stamps trying to work out what might look the best. Originally, I thought I might stamp the main floral image from the Prized Peony stamp set but when I picked the coordinating Peony die set up I knew I would use the die-cut peony instead, I haven’t really used it a lot and it is so pretty!

I used the Blending Brushes to add colour to Basic White cardstock. Sponging on colour is a great way to add depth to a die-cut. It was also great when making the leaves as I could sponge on a really soft layer of the Soft Sea Foam ink to the base of the leaf and add a lot more colour for the top piece.

You might also notice something you haven’t seen on this card… I used the Gingham Embossing Folder to create the background. It’s a brand new product which will be available from January 4, 2022. Isn’t it fabulous!

Let’s continue on the hop…
