Thank You for your endless love and support (Lasting Lily)

Hi everyone, as we draw nearer to the end of Sale-A-Bration, I thought I would share a card using the beautiful Lasting Lily stamp set. This is a stamp set which could be yours with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration. It is a lovely stamp set and is perfect for Sympathy cards. I find those types of cards very difficult to make. A stamp set like this makes it much easier. The lilies themselves are beautiful and the sentiments are so lovely.

I decided to make a brighter thank you card with this stamp set. I will definitely pick my recipient as I know some people have very strong opinions regarding the lily. One member of my family refuses to have lilies in his house and refers to them as the death lilies.

I actually started by embossing Old Olive cardstock with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. I hadn’t used this folder in a while and I don’t know why not as it is fantastic! I then stamped up my images and cut them out. There are coordinating dies which would have made this a lot easier! Next up I added a layer of vellum and then positioned the lilies. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I didn’t have any coordinating ribbon so I took the Whisper White Sheer Ribbon and coloured it with the Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Marker. I added this bow to the flowers. Lastly, I added some of the Pearl Basic Jewels to finish off the card.

The more I look at this card the more I think it look beautiful when made with a Very Vanilla background and then some soft shades like Petal Pink or Blushing Bride for the petals and Soft Sea Foam for the stems. Hmmm….might have to give it a go.

Accented Blooms Thank you

Hi everyone, today I’ve challenged myself to use a different colour palette when colouring flowers as I have been favouring the same palette for a while now. It isn’t always easy to step out of your comfort zone but it can prove worthwhile. I’ve gone for an orangey brown colour palette with my use of Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this combination.

To create the card, all you need to do is stamp the main image from the Accented Blooms stamp set and colour in with your preferred colouring method. In this case, I chose Stampin’ Blends! I then stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral before punching it out with the Tailored Tag punch (isn’t this a great punch?). I decided to step away from my usual centred panel and put the main panel on the right-hand side of the card base.

I used the cute Share What You Love Artisan Pearls to finish off the card. They are so cute, have you seen them?

Accented Blooms Thank you

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a card which features the Accented Blooms stamp set. One of the reasons I purchased this stamp set was because I LOVE the solid sentiment stamps. They look so lovely. The other little benefit is that they also coordinate with the Tailored Tag punch. It is easy to punch out the sentiment if you want to pop it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

It is so easy to make this card. Simply stamp the image and colour it with the medium of your choice. Of course, you know I chose Stampin’ Blends. After trimming the panel to size, I decided to add a strip of the Botanical Butterfly patterned paper to the top and bottom (I love how this looks!) before adhering it to the card base. I did run the card base through the Big Shot as I wanted to use the Subtle embossing folder to add texture.

The Accented Blooms is such a pretty stamp set and of course, you can always use the sentiments with any other stamp set.

All That You Are Sale-A-Bration Thank you

Hi everyone, if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you know I am a big fan of really trying to get the most out of your crafting products. I like making multiple cards and sometimes all I change up is the colour palette. Today’s card is an example of this. I’ve created another card using the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is SO pretty!

It is so very simple to create this card. All you need to do is take a piece of Whisper White cardstock and place it in the embossing folder. Run this through your Big Shot. Next, take your Stampin’ Blends and colour directly onto the embossed images. Take some ribbon and add to the card. Adhere the embossed panel to your card base. Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock and then punch out. Adhere the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Voila your card is done! It really is that easy!

Painted Seasons Sale-A-Bration Thank you Well Written

Hi everyone, my friend, and upline, Melissa, shared a GORGEOUS card on our stamping group today. I loved it so much and asked her if she wouldn’t mind me CASE-ing it. Graciously, she said I could!

For this card, I used the Painted Seasons stamp set, the Painted Seasons DSP, and the Well Written Framelits dies. My colour choice was inspired by the Painted Seasons DSP as I knew I would be including some of this paper in my card design. In the end, I went with Call Me Clover for the leaves and Poppy Parade for the flowers. Such a great combination. I think it would also be a great colour combination when making Christmas cards too.

Here’s the Card…

You might have noticed that I let the flowers overhang on each edge. I made a bit of a mistake with this card as I should have cut down the card a little to account for this feature. The card is now a little too big for a regular envelope. Fortunately, you can use the Envelope Punch Board to make a customised envelope to cater for this extra length.

My other tip with this card is to be careful when applying the Wink of Stella to the flowers as it WILL move the ink.

Botanical Butterfly DSP Painted Seasons Thank you Well Written

Hi everyone, when I was making my Brother-In-Law’s birthday card (which you can see here), my partner was offering me creative suggestions and one of them was to create a frame and have the beer bottles pop through. Whilst I didn’t end up using that idea at the time, it stuck with me and I really wanted to use it on another card.

To create the gingham frame, I used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies on the Botanical Butterflies DSP. I picked out the largest and the third largest of the dies and held them in position with some post-it note tape as I didn’t want the dies to shift as I ran them through the Big Shot. Doesn’t it look effective? I kept the centre panel which was cut out for use on another card project.

While the Big Shot was out I also ran through the “thanks” and the “you” dies from the Well Written Die Set. When diecutting intricate dies I like to make sure I apply Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to the cardstock before I die cut. This makes it so much easier to adhere the die cut pieces, especially when layering them as I did for the sentiment.

Here’s the Card…

I used the Painted Seasons stamp set (which you can earn for free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration). I actually fussy cut out the images but there are now coordinating dies!! YAY! That would have saved me quite a bit of time.

I love the colour combination. The Melon Mambo with the Granny Apple Green really pops against the gingham background. I love this look so much and will definitely be returning to it in the future!

CASE the Catalogue Climbing Roses Occasions Thank you

Hi everyone, one of the colours I am crushing on at the moment, and you might have noticed it, is Highland Heather. It was introduced in the current Annual Catalogue and I just adore it. It really is the prettiest shade of purple. I have to stop myself, mostly unsuccessfully, from reaching for it again and again. Highland Heather is another colour featured in the Gingham Gala 6″x6″ DSP paper pack. It was when I was going through selecting my papers for the cards earlier that I knew I would be making another version of the card I had CASED from the Occasions catalogue. You might remember I have already made two other versions. You can see my first card here and my second card here.

Isn’t the Highland Heather version SO PRETTY!! I love it!

CASE the Catalogue Climbing Roses Thank you

Hi everyone, there are so many card ideas in the Occasions catalogue which I just adore. I’d love to make them all and I sure plan to make as many of them as I can. One of my favourite samples uses the Climbing Roses stamp set and the Rose Trellis Thinlits dies (available individually and as a bundle). I truly loved this card and just HAD to CASE it. The designer has such a great eye for design.

Here’s the Card…

Isn’t it pretty? I love everything about it! For this card is that I used my fine tip glue to adhere the trellis to the white panel. It was a little fiddly. If I was to make it again I would recommend using the Multi-Purpose Adhesive sheets as it would have been a much faster process.

Butterfly Gala Thank you

Hi everyone, one of the things I love about stamping is that I can express my artistic side even when I cannot paint or draw (well, anything that I would want in the public domain). Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy for me to be creative and end up with gorgeous projects by creating fantastic stamp sets like Butterfly Gala and the coordinating craft punch.

To create my card all I did was stamp the outline of the butterfly using black ink. I then used the coordinating solid stamps and inked them in a light colour. Using the ‘rock ‘n roll’ technique, I added a second darker colour to the edge of the inked stamp. You don’t need to be too fussy about having it all perfectly even as nature isn’t like this! It’s fantastic. As the stamps are photopolymer you can easily see through them to position them in the correct place on the black outline. All that is left is to use the coordinating punch to punch out the pieces. I was able to quickly stamp a few different colour combinations – Lemon Lime Twist/Granny Apple Green, Pool Party/Bermuda Bay, and Flirty Flamingo/Melon Mambo.

To create the card I folded a piece of Basic Black cardstock and added a panel of dotty paper from the Botanical Butterfly DSP (which is a freebie you could earn during Sale-A-Bration). Next up, I stamped the sentiment before mounting it on another piece of Basic Black cardstock. This panel was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. All that was left was to position the butterflies and add a coat of Wink of Stella. Voila! Done!

Here’s the card…

It’s so pretty. The colours are so vibrant and look so beautiful with the Wink of Stella shimmering. I hope you’ll give this a try and if you do, please let me know. I’d love to see what you create.

CASE the Catalogue Needle & Thread Occasions Thank you

CASE the Catalogue: Thank You (Needle & Thread)

Hi everyone, have you all had a chance to look at the new Occasions catalogue? As well as showcasing the gorgeous new products, the catalogue features some AMAZING samples. I’ve linked the full Occasions catalogue so you can flip through it. You are going to love all of the examples. One card I loved is on page 38 of the catalogue and that is the inspiration for this card I am sharing today.

I’ve used the Needle & Thread stamp set as well as the coordinating Needlepoint Nook 12×12 Designer Series Paper. This stamp set is one of the new Distinktive Stamp sets. I find that I need to test out the stamp before committing it to my project. Sometimes I feel like I have too much ink on the stamp so I like to experiment first. If you cannot seem to get the right amount of ink, try using a sponge dauber to apply the ink. This is actually my preferred method.

I loved using the die to create a subtle background. It just adds that bit of interest.
