Grateful (Cottage Wreaths)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, recently Stampin’ Up!® advised they would be using a couple of specific stamps and die bundles for the upcoming World Cardmaking Day event. (You can read more about it here). As I didn’t have two of the sets I placed an order and when the Cottage Wreaths bundle arrived yesterday I couldn’t wait to use it.

I started by creating a card base of Early Espresso cardstock. To this, I layered a piece of patterned paper from the Neutrals 6×6 Designer Series Paper pack. Instead of sticking it flat, I curled up two of the corners to give the card a little more interest.

For the stamping, I took the leaf wreath from the Cottage Wreaths stamp set. I inked up this stamp with a combination of Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red ink (a Sponge Dauber helps with this process) before stamping it on Basic White cardstock. I also stamped some acorns in Crumb Cake ink. The bow was stamped with Old Olive ink. Once stamped, I die-cut the pieces out with the coordinating Country Wreaths die.

For the sentiment, I stamped it in Versamark on Early Espresso cardstock before white heat-embossing. I then used the All That dies to cut it out. If you find it too hard to line up the die after you’ve stamped, you could die-cut the banner and then do the stamping.

Once all the stamping was done, I started assembling the card. I added some Silver-Threaded Twine to add a little more interest but I pulled it all about and removed the silver thread as well.

After assembling the card, I added some Wink of Stella to the bow and acorns and then scattered some Amber rhinestones from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack.

Here’s the card…

It’s a pretty simple card and you could easily make quite a few in one sitting. I think it would also look good as a square card too. What do you think?
