Just Saying Hello (Simply Fabulous / Rings of Love DSP)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, the gorgeous Rings of Love Designer Series Paper is the focus of today’s card. This gorgeous paper could be yours for FREE, with a qualifying order, during Sale-A-Bration. It does coordinate with the Ringed with Nature Bundle (which would actually qualify you to select the paper for free) but if you don’t have this, don’t worry, you can use it with any other stamp set you like.

For my card, I am pairing the Rings of Love Designer Series Paper with the Simply Fabulous stamp set. I love the fonts on this set and I’ve been wanting to use the ‘Just Saying Hello’ stamp set since I first received the stamps.

I started the card by creating a card base from Soft Suede cardstock. I layered on the tree stumps paper from the Rings of Love DSP and also cut out lots of butterflies, leaves and mushrooms from the back of this same paper. I cut out quite a few pieces as I wasn’t sure which combination would look best. It’s always easier to have too many options rather than having to stop and cut out more, again and again.

On some Basic White cardstock, I stamped the ‘Just Saying Hello’ stamp from the Simply Fabulous stamp set. I used Soft Suede ink to tie in with the rest of the design. The sentiment was die-cut using the second largest stitched circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set. I thought that it needed something else so I die cut a circle from Soft Suede cardstock using the Layering Circle dies. After layering the two pieces together, I thought the sentiment still looked a little stark so I very gently flicked ink from the Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends markers. Be very gentle with this process as you can potentially damage the nib.

At this point, I had all my pieces together and started to assemble the card. I popped up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The butterflies were adhered in the centre only so the wings could stick up to give more dimension. I thought the mushrooms needed grounding so added a small base using Soft Suede cardstock. The final touch was to add a bow from Baker’s Twine. I did, of course, add some Wink of Stella to the butterflies and mushrooms but it is hard to see it in the photograph.

Here’s the card…

I was a bit unsure whether I would actually like this paper when I first saw it in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue but it is really pretty and has a lot of potential. I’m actually looking forward to creating more with it. If you love this paper, it will only be available until 31 August 2022 or while stocks last. It can be yours for free with a qualifying order. Gotta love that!
