I started by die-cutting the large background die from the Two-Tone Flora dies. I positioned this over a panel of Basic White cardstock so I could use it as a stencil. With a Small Blending Brush, I sponged Soft Sea Foam ink over the top to get this soft resist pattern. It’s so pretty. I die-cut it with a Stitched Rectangle die and mounted this panel on a piece of Gold Foil Sheet.
The card base was created from Soft Sea Foam cardstock which was embossed with one of the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders. (This particular design is my favourite!). I added my sponged panel to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using the Two-Tone Flora stamp set, I stamped up a heap of leaves and flowers in different colours on Basic White cardstock. I always recommend stamping up more than you think you will need so that you have options when assembling the card. You can always use the leftover pieces to make another card.
After die-cutting the stamped images with the Two-Tone Flora dies, I picked out the pieces I wanted and adhered them to the card front. Some were adhered directly, others popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the sentiment, I chose the Happy Birthday from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark ink and then gold heat-embossed it. The sentiment was then die-cut using the circle dies from the Picture This die-set. This was popped on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To finish the card, I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and scattered some of the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins. I thought it needed something extra so tied a bow of the gold Simply Elegant Trim. To create a little more interest, I actually pulled out the inner core and then frayed the edges. It creates such a soft and pretty look.
Here’s the card…
I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you’ll give it a try too. I love the softness of the background. All of the supplies used to make my card can be found in my online store.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
