Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #23: Colour Challenge

by Kylie
Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day!  Thanks so much for hopping with us this month.  The theme for October’s Blog Hop is a Colour Challenge.  Our challenge was to use Pretty Peacock, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry (all must be used) on a card. We were also permitted to use Basic Black, Whisper White, Very Vanilla and/or Crumb Cake.

Here is the challenge

Here’s my card

Let me say from the outset, this was a huge challenge for me!  I rarely use these colours and would probably never have thought to use all three together.  And, this is one of the reasons I *love* our monthly challenges.  It can be so easy to stick with the colours, stamps, designs, etc that you are used to but with prompts like this, we step outside of the familiar.  It can be liberating!

I ended up using the Love of Leaves Stamp Set, the coordinating Stitched Leaves dies (available as a bundle for a 10% discount) and the Ornate Frames dies.

Let’s continue on the hop…

You might have come here from Sharon Wilson’s blog.  Next up,  please hop along to Elizabeth Yager’s blog. Here’s a list of all the participants:

This is gorgeous Kylie. Not that I have this stamp set but I probably wouldn’t have thought to use it with this colour combo even if I did but it works beautifully.

I love the way you did the background, Kylie! The bright colours pop against the Pretty Peacock layer. Very effective and absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Vickie, thanks so much for your kind comment. The card size is 14.9cm x 10.5cm. The two panels are both 13.5cm x 9cm. I hope this helps. ~Kylie
