Use Patterned Paper to make a birthday card (CASE the Catalogue)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a card CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from the 2021 Annual Catalogue. It features the gorgeous Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper which is retiring at the end of this catalogue period. So sad! What I liked about today’s card is that it is suitable for so many different situations. As I always need birthday cards, that is what I am making today.

All you need to do is pick out some of the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper and die cut some of the images. Don’t you love it when the dies actually pair up with the designs on patterned paper?! I do (although I don’t mind fussy cutting either). I also die cut the pot stand out of Early Espresso cardstock.

For the main panel, I cut a piece of the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper to size. I adhered a narrow strip of Cinnamon Cider cardstock near the bottom edge of this panel. This is going to act as my shelf. If you aren’t sure exactly where to position everything, I recommend laying it all out before you do any stamping, or glueing. By laying everything out first, I was able to stamp the images (from the Plentiful Plants stamp set) exactly where I thought they should go. I stamped the images in Garden Green ink. After the stamping was done, I popped up most of the die cut pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals and stuck them in place.

The next step was to add the sentiment. This was from the Brave Vikings stamp set. I masked off part of the sentiment before stamping so that it only said “Happy Birthday”. I trimmed it to size and then added it to the card.

The final touch was to add the main focal panel to a card base. I thought it needed a little extra interest so I took a piece of Gray Granite cardstock and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Stitched Greenery die. I then added the main focal panel and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love how it looks!

Here’s the card…

Isn’t it a lovely card?! The Stampin’ Up!® in house designers are so talented. I had so much fun and ended up creating four of these cards!

If you love this card too, the beautiful Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper is still available, and on sale until it retires on 2 May 2022 (unless it sells out earlier). All of the supplies used to create today’s card can be found in my online store.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
