You Can Do This (Daisy Garden / Forever Fern)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing a card I originally made for the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop this month. At the time I thought it might not be the perfect card for the theme which was Simple Stamping. In the end, I figured it actually IS a relatively simple card – one large stamp and a sentiment. It does have a couple of layers but that’s about it.

For my card, I created a card base from Crumb Cake cardstock. I cut another panel of this same cardstock and placed it in my Stamparatus as I wanted to use the Daisy Garden stamp which is a big background stamp. I tend to use the Stamparatus for these sorts of stamps so that if I don’t get a good first impression, it is very easy to re-stamp in exactly the same position. Now, you could easily leave the stamping at this space but I did add a little of a White Watercolour Pencil to the petals as well as a coating of Wink of Stella. After that was done, I cut the panel to size, mounted it on some Basic White cardstock and then mounted this panel directly to the card base.

The sentiment, from the Forever Fern stamp set, was stamped in Versamark on Basic White cardstock. It was Gold heat-embossed and then trimmed to size. I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished off the card with a bow of Gold Simply Elegant Trim and scattered some Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

Here’s the card…

This was a really quick and easy card to make and I think it would look great in different colour combinations, and with different sentiments. I hope you’ll give it a go!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Kylie, your beautiful card shows exactly how “simple stamping” can be stunning. The little extras of adding the white pencil and wink of stella make it stand out. Enjoy your day!
