Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for September 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. Watermarked photographs are permitted. My hope is that these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
A lot of the sketches I share for our Creative Prompts are very basic and this is no exception. Don’t forget the shapes are merely suggestions, something to kick start an idea.
For my card, I decided to use the Abigail Rose suite. It’s so pretty! I thought the gorgeous Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper would make the perfect background, and the large floral image from the Cottage Rose stamp set would be the perfect element to use.
I started by creating a card base from Early Espresso cardstock. I then layered a piece of patterned paper from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper pack. After cutting a length of Natural Finish Ribbon, I frayed the edges and layered it across the card.
For the ‘circle’ element, I stamped the main floral image from the Cottage Rose stamp set on Very Vanilla cardstock three times. I coloured in the images using Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I then die cut one image with the Cottage Flowers dies. From one of the extra images, I cut out the entire flower. From the remaining image, I cut out only part of the flower. I popped up the images using Stampin’ Dimensionals. It gave it such depth and dimension.
Next, I stamped the sentiment, also from the Cottage Rose stamp set, with Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. As my ink was quite juicy I had time to add clear embossing powder and then heat-set it. I popped up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals too.
The final touch was to add some Wink of Stella to the flowers and some Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to the design.
Here’s the card…
This is one of those cards which I wish you could see in person as it looks so much better than the photograph conveys. It has such depth!
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites. The reason for this is that I can’t monitor the links and ensure they are all suitable for all audiences. Watermarked photos are, of course, permitted.
I hope you will play along. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
